If you have an eero router, the best way to check your speeds is by using the eero app. Click here for some simple instructions on how to do this. Alternatively, you can complete a speed test using speeedtest.net by Ookla and follow the step-by-step guide below:

- Close all open programs and applications on your device, including any VPN software, and make sure you’re the only one using your broadband connection.
- The results are more accurate if you download the speedtest app, rather than using a browser. You can complete this on any internet-connected device.
- Once loaded, press “GO”. The app will now complete a speed test from the device you are using.
- Once completed, you will be provided with the ping, download speed and upload speed results (similar to the screenshot shown below*).
If possible, make sure you’re wired in using an Ethernet (CAT5e or above) cable, as Wi-Fi speeds are often slower, so this won’t provide an accurate test of your internet connection speed at all.
The speed test results are often unique to the device you are using, so you may find slight differences between different devices. If your speed test is lower than expected, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help. Please make sure you’ve followed all the instructions above before you call.
