The first eero is called the “Gateway”. Each eero has two wired Ethernet ports and a single USB-C power supply port. The Ethernet ports are as follows:
- WAN/Internet port: connects to the FTTP ONT
- LAN: connects to any wired ethernet devices, a network switch (if extra ethernet ports are required), or an additional eero
Extra eeros can be added to the network via wired Ethernet, or via the Wi-Fi mesh:
If the additional eero is connected via Wi-Fi, each Ethernet port can be used for the LAN or connecting to other wired ethernet network devices.
If the additional eero is connected via Ethernet, then the spare Ethernet port can be used to connect to other wired ethernet network devices or a subsequent eero.
